Welcome New Clinical Information Analyst Senior, Alondra Dorsey!
Alondra Dorsey joins MISHC as a clinical information analyst senior. She previously worked with Michigan Medicine’s Center for Circulatory Support (LVAD) team, where she held progressive roles such as, a medical assistant, research coordinator, and a clinical information analyst. Her responsibilities included overseeing process improvements, data analysis, and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards. Alondra was part of a team that secured a $100,000 grant to establish a simulation laboratory for LVAD patients and is acknowledged for her role in data abstraction and entry in the ASAIO Journal publication, ”Left Ventricular Assist Device Implantation in Patients with Preoperative Severe Mitral Regurgitation.”
Alondra holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with a minor in Mental Health and Illness from Eastern Michigan University (EMU). She will graduate with a Master of Quality Management Engineering from EMU in the fall of 2024. Alondra will work alongside Clinical Quality Improvement Lead, Sheryl Fielding, to develop MISHC reports, registry and VBR goals, educational meetings, and relevant tools for our participating sites for quality improvement. Through chart reviews and site visits, she will work to ensure MISHC sites meet all CMS and TVT requirements.
Alondra was drawn to MISHC by the collaborative environment, transparency, and openness made evident by public access to the consortium’s missions, goals, and presentations via the MISHC website. She is excited about the opportunity to work alongside talented colleagues, engage in innovative projects, and tackle complex challenges. Alondra shared, “Transparency is something I highly value, and I am eager to collaborate with a team that operates as effectively as MISHC, grow professionally, and make a meaningful contribution to the MISHC team.”
Outside of work, Alondra enjoys traveling, a love sparked by experiences traveling with her grandmother as a very young child. Her favorite way to unwind after a hectic day is spending time with her family, including her husband, sons Tristan (4) and Tyler (3), and dog, Cali. “Despite the occasional chaos, being around loved ones always brings me a sense of calm and reconnection,” she explained.
Please join us in welcoming Alondra!
