MISHC Meeting Summaries for Q3 2023

The MISHC Collaborative Webinar was held on June 28th at 6 pm. Attendees discussed proposed new VBR measures. The MISHC Coordinating Center wrote a proposal based on the outcome of these discussions for review and approval by BCBSM. We will share the plan with you upon finalization.
Also, during the meeting, Henry Ford Health's Dr. Jennifer Cowger presented "Patient Heart Failure Optimization before Edge-to-Edge Repair," and Dr. Dee Dee Wang shared the pre-recorded talk, "Diagnostic Imaging to Evaluate TEER Therapy for Heart Failure Patients." Dr. Neal Duggal of Michigan Medicine shared "Intraprocedural TEER Imaging: 3D TEE Considerations." All three talks are on the MISHC YouTube channel. We encourage you to share these presentations with your colleagues.
The MISHC Coordinator/Abstractor Meeting was held on July 25th from 10 am – 11 am. Sheryl Fielding shared information on report attestation. Attendees also shared and discussed the progress of quality projects at their sites. You can view the entire summary of this meeting via our follow-up email.
The MISHC Coordinator/Abstractor Meeting was held on September 12th. Annemarie Forrest reviewed the approved MISHC VBR goals and went over report distribution links for Q2 2023 as well as report attestation. MISHC site-specific VBR goals are due October 1st and approvals or feedback will be sent no later than November 1st, 2023. Attestation forms are due December 1st.
Sheryl Fielding talked about PHE and structural heart virtual visits and follow-up issues, reviewed the MISHC Contact Update Form, and shared info about the ACC Quality Summit. You can volunteer to participate in TVT mentoring and networking by emailing Sheryl at sfields@med.umich.edu. Emails will not be shared immediately. Needs will be assessed, and mentors will be paired with groups intentionally depending on need.
The MiTVT2 Structural Heart Mid-Level Provider Workgroup The MiTVT2 workgroup met on September 22nd to finalize a draft of the Shared Decision-Making Best Practice Protocol. The protocol, which contains a shared decision-making smart phrase and checklist, will be sent to the collaborative for comment soon.
