Raed M. Alnajjar graduated from the University of Jordan Medical school and completed his Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Heart Institute in 2013. He joined Henry Ford Health in 2016 as a member of the senior staff in the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department, becoming Henry Ford Macomb Hospital’s Director of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department in 2019. He is a clinical assistant professor at Michigan State University and a member of the core faculty staff for the Henry Ford Macomb General Surgery Residency Program.

Dr. Alnajjar is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, the American Board of Surgery, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and the Jordanian Board of Surgery.

He is interested in robotic and minimally invasive Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery, structural heart procedures, and alternative access TAVR procedures serving as a proctor for robotic cardiothoracic surgical procedures and alternative access TAVRs at the national level. Dr. Alnajjar is also interested in multiple arterial grafting, cardiac innovations, training, and education. 

Dr. Alnajjar serves as a board member and chair of the education committee at the Michigan Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons (MSTCVS) and co-chair of the Media Committee at the Michigan Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.
